Prevention and Support Services

Prevention and Support Services work alongside Wrexham Children’s Social Care teams to provide support to families. The aim of this support is to help protect children and prevent the need for children and young people to come into care. The team also helps to support Foster Carers with children and young people..

Within this team, there are two ‘sub-teams’ – a Core Team (working core hours only) and a ‘Waking Hours Team’ (working 7am until 10pm and planned weekend work)

The teams provide a range of preventative services to families such as: supervised contacts between child/ren and parents, direct work with families, family group meetings and one to one work to help meet the needs of the family.
